What's the Biggest Mistake Most People Make at the Gym?

Today I want to talk about the biggest mistake that people make when going the gym, whether it's their first day back after a month or their first day back after a few years. If you've been thinking about getting out there and getting back into shape, first off let me congratulate you on taking the first step. When you're ready to get back in there, these are great tips for you to follow.
When you are committed to getting in shape and are really trying to get after it right away, my best advice for you is to slow down.

After 15 years in the fitness industry, this one thing has stood out to me most. People tend to go too hard too fast and it completely derails any momentum they may have had by starting slow and slowly ramping things up. I've seen too many people lift too much, run too much, and burn their bodies out before they even get a chance to get in shape.
This hard and fast routine sets you up to fail. You might see an initial weight loss in the first week, but if you get injured, you'll gain it right back. You might get set back further than you were originally.
I want to make this clear to people who are thinking about getting into shape. You don't have to kill yourself right away. Nothing happens overnight. You have to start where you are comfortable. Everyone is trying to get into beast-mode, but you should be more focused on getting into least-mode.
Try eating three or four good meals a day and getting two to three workouts a week involving some cardio and light weight training. You want to leave yourself room to grow, lose more fat, and gain more muscle. Burning yourself out right away could lead to injury and to you never getting back in the gym again.
If you have any questions for me about how you should start your fitness journey, I'm always here to answer them. Don't estate to give me a call or send me an email today.
