When Can You Return to the Gym After Giving Birth?
Today, I want to talk about how soon mothers can get back to the gym after giving birth.
Now, birth is obviously a very intense experience. Having trained plenty of people who've undergone this process, I know that there are a lot of factors that go into how quickly someone can return to the gym.
What someone did prior to pregnancy and through the pregnancy are two of the major factors in this.
First, ask your doctor for their advice on how soon you can return. And second of all, be careful. Keep your previous and current fitness in mind, and don't push yourself beyond your capability.
Some people may bounce back very quickly if they were very active before and during their pregnancy.
If you weren't as active prior to or throughout your pregnancy, don't go too hard into it to begin with.
However, no matter your circumstances, it's important to start off light at first. Light cardio, brisk walking, and other gentle exercises may be best at first.
Don't be in a rush to lose pregnancy weight. It is important to ease yourself into your exercise routine after giving birth.
You may be able to get back into body-weight exercises a month or so after giving birth, but consult your doctor to see what will be appropriate for you, specifically.
If you have any other questions or would like more information, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
